Phoenix Police Detective accused of extreme DUI

PHOENIX – A nine-year veteran and a detective with the Phoenix Police Department, Lori Demski, is facing a possible charge of extreme drunken driving.

36-year-old Demski was taken into custody in the agency’s Mountain View precinct on 11th of August after a neighbor saw her driving away from her home near 19th Avenue and Interstate 17 around 11 p.m. She appeared drunk at the time.

When police arrived to the area, Demski was returning to her home. According to court records, when the incident happened, her BAC level was more than 0.15 percent. The legal driving limit of the state is 0.08 percent. Prosecutors are awaiting official toxicology results that can take up to 6 weeks.

Demski is on paid administrative leave while investigators are investigating the incident.
