The World’s First Attorney Self-Published Comic will debut at the Phoenix Comic Con on Thursday, May 28.
The Arizona DUI Team, and its founder, Attorney Brian Sloan, will be debuting the Limited-Edition Arizona DUI Team Comic at Table 2131 in Artist Alley, and will give away copies of the comic book, for free, all weekend long.
The Arizona DUI Team Comic will feature artwork from local superstar artist, and winner of the 2011 Phoenix New Times Best Comic Book Artist, Shelby Robertson.
Based on the silhouetted characters in The Arizona DUI Team logo, Attorney Sloan decided years ago that a good way to give back to the community, while incorporating his background as a comic and artwork collector, would be to create a comic book, which can not only be appreciated as a collector’s item, but can be used as a teaching tool, to creatively let the public know a few of the ins-and-outs of DUI law, and one’s Constitutional Rights.
Shelby Robertson, whose artistic style most closely resembles that of world-renowned comic book artist Rob Liefeld, creator of Marvel Comic’s Deadpool, was the obvious choice as the artist for Attorney Sloan’s comic book. Mr. Sloan has been collecting artwork drawn by Robertson for years, and had come to realize that he first met Mr. Robinson at a small comic book convention in California some 20 years ago, when Mr. Sloan purchased a comic from the fledgling artist, who was willing to do a sketch of his character on the cover.
The First Printing of The Arizona DUI Team comic will be given out only during the 4-day Phoenix Comic Con, May 28 through 31, and only while supplies last. Once a certain number of the comic – limited to 10,000 copies – is given away, the rest will be auctioned off on Ebay, with the proceeds going to Arizona Humane Society.
Attorney Brian Sloan, as well as Comic Artist Shelby Robertson, will be on hand throughout the Comic Con to sign any copies of the comic, as well as give away a few other goodies.
Attorney Brian Sloan has been solely focusing on DUI Defense representation for more than 11 years, and has been recognized by numerous legal organizations as not only one of the top DUI Defense Lawyers in Arizona, but as one of the top DUI Defense Attorneys in the nation.
Mr. Sloan was awarded the cover story of Attorney at Law Magazine in August, 2013, and was named an “Attorney to Watch in 2015” by that same magazine in the December, 2014 issue. Mr. Sloan was also recently requested to be a guest author on what became an Amazon.com best-selling book called A Cup Of Coffee With 10 Of The Top DUI Attorneys In The United States: Valuable insights you should know if you are charged with a DUI.
Mr. Sloan has defended more than 2,000 DUI cases, has argued more than 100 Felony and Misdemeanor DUI trials, and has achieved some amazing results for his clients, including recently getting a case dismissed, when his client was facing 10 to 15 years in prison; and getting his client a Misdemeanor DUI within 10 days after taking over a case, when the client’s previous attorney spent 7 months convincing him to plead Guilty to a Felony (which he did plead Guilty to, but Attorney Sloan was able to get him out of that).
Mr. Sloan created The Arizona DUI Team in 2011, after seeing so many client being improperly represented by other attorneys who claimed to be DUI lawyers, but who really had no idea what they were doing.
The Arizona DUI Team was created to give those charged with a DUI a clear choice in DUI Defense Representation, with the hope that people would no longer have to end up with a harsher sentence, or a Felony conviction, simply because the person chose the wrong defense lawyer.
In further helping his clients, Mr. Sloan created an innovative type of representation he calls Bifurcated Representation, which leads to his clients paying an affordable, flat fee, with payment plans available; and not paying for services his clients are not receiving. This type of representation was incorporated into the clients being represented by The Arizona DUI Team, and has lead to Mr. Sloan’s private practice, and The Arizona DUI Team, being very successful.
At 15 years old, Mr. Sloan’s first job was working at a comic book store, which not only taught Mr. Sloan the value of hard work, and the business of supply and demand, but allowed Mr. Sloan to start his comic book collection, and get first pick of the new comics that came into the store.
Mr. Sloan subsequently went on to college, then law school at Pepperdine School of Law in Malibu, Calif., where he graduated a semester early with a Juris Doctor Degree and Certificate in Dispute Resolution.
Mr. Sloan soon moved to Arizona, where he fell into DUI Law, and has spent his entire career focused solely on DUI Defense Representation.
Although no longer a comic book collector, Mr. Sloan now collects autographs, as well as artwork, and has amassed quite a collection of comic book paintings and other collectables.
While Attorney Sloan will be at his booth throughout the Phoenix Comic Con, he says that he is looking forward to getting his posters autographed by Jason Momoa, who will play Aquaman in the upcoming Justice League movie; and other TV and Movie icons, such as Christopher Lloyd, Ron Perlman, and Alyson Hannigan.
The Arizona DUI Team focuses solely on DUI and Other Vehicular-Related Offenses in City, Town, Justice, and Superior Courts in Maricopa County, Arizona. They can be reached at 602-DUI-Team 480-900-0384, or www.AZDUITeam.com.
