Arizona DPS Motorcycle Officer Hurt In Suspected DUI Crash

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – On Saturday, a motorcycle officer with the Arizona Department of Public Safety sustained several injuries after he was struck by an alleged drunk driver. The officer is now recovering from the injuries he sustained in the accident.

The motorcycle officer was travelling north on Miller Road in Scottsdale when he was hit by a southbound vehicle. The officer was thrown off from his bike and was taken to a Scottsdale hospital. He was completely alert after the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle was a 19-year-old teenager who was suspected to be under the influence. He failed to yield and turned into an intersection when he hit the officer. He then hit another vehicle after that.

The teenager is now being investigated.
