Suspected drunk driver slams into city bus injuring six people

TEMPE, AZ – A serious crash took place in Tempe Sunday night when a vehicle hit a city bus. The accident took place at the intersection of Priest and Baseline roads around 5.30 p.m.

According to Tempe police, speed and alcohol seem to be the factors in this incident. Police also say that they found beer cans in and around the vehicle which hit the city bus. As a result of the accident, six people were injured and all of them were taken to the hospital.

The accident took place when the driver of a Camaro tried to make a right hand turn onto Baseline Road when he slammed into the bus. Eight people were aboard the bus at that time out of which three suffered minor injuries including the bus driver.

Camaro’s condition was more severe as he had to be extricated from his car and one of the passengers was thrown from the car. Three young people were riding the car at that time. Their current situation has not been released by the hospital.

As a result of this crash, traffic was tied up for several hours. However, police investigated and worked to clear the scene.
