Phoenix Suns broadcaster Tom Chambers arrested for DUI

1075-Tom-ChambersPHOENIX – Tom Chambers, Phoenix Suns broadcaster, has apologized to the NBA team and its fans after being taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.

On Saturday night, 54-year-old Chambers was stopped after a police officer observed a pickup truck weaving in a bicycle lane, according to the Scottsdale police. A police report showed that there were 2 opened bottles of beer inside the vehicle and Chambers refused to take a field sobriety test which was issued to him.

Chambers allowed a blood draw, said police. He was booked and then released, but the test results are still pending.

Suns officials declined to comment on the DUI arrest case.

Chambers played for the Suns from 1988 to 1993 and in 1993; he helped Phoenix reach the NBA Finals. His career ended in 1997.
