Motorist Arrested After Crashing Into Arizona Airport Fence

23-year-old Preston Scott Andrews was arrested by the Scottsdale Police Department after he drove his Honda Civic around an Arizona airfield before smashing into the perimeter fence on Sunday.

The police department received a call at 5:45 p.m. local time reporting a white car that had crashed through one of the gates at Scottsdale Airport.

After smashing through a fence line, the Honda Civic attempted to leave the airport property. However, Andrews was quickly taken into custody and arrested. He faced multiple charges including extreme D.U.I. and felony criminal damage.

According to a police statement, an investigation is ongoing and detectives are working with the FAA in regards to additional federal charges. “There are no links to terrorism at this time,” the statement added.
