Alleged drunk driver crashes into light rail
PHOENIX – Early Sunday morning, the SUV of a person driving under the influence of an intoxicant collided with the light rail.
Police said that near 24th Street and Jefferson, a driver ran a red light and struck a light rail. Of the 11 passengers that were onboard the rail, no one got injured.
The passenger sitting on the front seat in the SUV suffered a leg injury and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The person driving the SUV was arrested and charged for driving while intoxicated.
